We all want to look our best at the college party , especially if it’s the first year at college, don’t we ? Most of us have derived inspiration from Bollywood movies, magazines and Hollywood celebrities for fashion, tweaking it to adjust it to our surroundings. Be it easy breezy style of Alia Bhatt in Dear Zindagi or spunky mix and match of Deepika Padukone in Cocktail, be it edgy fashion of Sonam Kapoor’s daily wear or be it Anushka’s laid back style, somewhere we all look around for exclusive outfits to stand out in the crowd.

More so, if it is College Fresher party…

Team Ciceroni says goodbye to the stereotypical styles and brings ideas to help you create your own personal style.

1. Jumpsuit

Choose to be the retro queen. Embrace the disco diva within you and opt for jumpsuit. Bring in the drama. Wear a halter neck and backless black jumpsuit or a one-shoulder jumpsuit. Pair it with statement earrings. One may also try out a solid sleeveless, wide legged slit jumpsuit in a deep wine shade for the classy vibes.

2. Romper

Rompers , shorter version of jumpsuit, are more popular among the youth these days. They are inherently sexy, a combination of short top and shorts. Wear a stripey romper with a deep V back or make a style statement with a romper with flare sleeves. Florals, solids, quirk – choose your style.

3. Dress

Dresses are too mainstream for a fresher’ party, especially if you want to stand out. Still if you want to give in to mainstream, opt for a body-con dress and flaunt your curves like Suhana Khan. For the non-risque takers, well go ahead, wear that little black dress you always wanted to wear. But add in a bit of chutzpah with an off-shoulder dress or a fringe dress while you shimmy around.

Co-ord sets are a part of the latest trend for millennial. It could be a co-ord set of a tube top and skirt or a set of matching top and shorts. One can choose a pastel pink tube top with a bodycon knee-length skirt or a black and white stripped co-ord set with a criss-cross pattern on the back. You can pair it up with statement earrings, classic hoops or a two-stranded neck piece.

5. Culottes and Tops

Are you someone who likes to dress simple yet keeping it stylish? Then culottes and top should be your go-to option. One can opt to wear this style and stay comfortable while not showing off a lot of skin. There are certain patterns one can follow. Glam up the look by opting to wear a one-shoulder printed top over light colored culottes. Know that when you are keeping your outfit simple, you need to highlight the look with makeup and accessories

6. Pleated Skirts

Pair up your basic tees in mustard or grey with a knee-length pleated skirt trending the style charts. Carry a chic clutch and wear your fanciest stilettos. Style your hair in a ponytail like Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt.

7. Wide-legged pants

Play it cool with an off the shoulder mustard yellow top with monochromatic wide-legged pants or go all retro by wearing a floral shirt and wide-legged pants with bandana just like Neetu Kapoor and Zeenat Aman from late 80’s.

8. Denim on denim

Are you someone who doesn’t like putting in extra effort for dressing up and is always glued to denims? You may style your denim with a sequin top and denim jacket over it…and oh! Don’t forget those big hoops like Kareena in Veere di Wedding! You may want to add in some more drama by braiding your hair into pleats.

9. Maxi dress

Maxi dresses are a mixture of sophisticated with glamour. Select maxi to look like the diva. Remember Kareena Kapoor wearing the front tie white maxi dress with puffy full sleeves in her last film “Veere di Wedding”? Why not recreate that look with free-flowing hair, natural makeup and the hoops?

10. Small shorts blouse top

How about wearing high waist silk shorts with a classic white shirt and a statement neckpiece to finish up the look? If you don’t want to keep it simple, you may go for a full sleeve blush pink top with a deep V on the back or maybe a peplum top with the shorts. Don’t forget to accessories your look with a matching bag and heels.

11. Slip dress

Slip dresses are in fashion lately. A contrast shirt paired with the slip dress would make you stand out of the crowd. Bandana and retro shade deep burgundy lipstick can polish the look.
