Can you feel the blazing rays of sun this month?

Summer does seem like all dust and lowering skies in Ahmedabad. You take your sunscreens and water-proof makeup kit out, you start hunting for light fabrics, filtering out comfy dresses in the closet, especially bottoms that is quite a task. Most of us really don’t entertain the idea of slipping in denims and hence, fall short of clothes. But you know what? You can comfortably bid adieu to your favourite set of ripped jeans as there are n numbers of wardrobe options that can be an ideal substitute to it.

So Amdavadis, Ditch the Denims and experiment with these bottoms this summer. Here we go!

Palazzos

One of the popular styles of 60s, palazzos never really went out of fashion. Fashionistas kept the trend re-inventing from time to time and it was also promoted by Bollywood divas including Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma. This season, try floral prints, solid printed palazzos and team it with a crop top for a super-chic look. You could also try a long kurta and palazzo for a classy appearance.

Cotton/linen Pants

Cotton/linen pants are real saviour for office-going women in summers. Printed or plain trousers paired with a shirt or a ruffled top make for a good work wear and keep the style factor intact. Not only this, they also reduce the risk of body rashes.

Culottes

Culottes are the best substitute for those who miss wearing shorts to work.

For a cool summer avatar, go for a set of checkered or plain culottes with a tee tucked at the front.

Long Skirts

Are you one amongst those who gushed over Kajol’s long skirt looks in Dilwale? Skirts never fail to attract your attention. Take your style quotient a notch up by opting for long and flowy skirts that could be the most airy attire one could have for combating summers.  Go boho chic by teaming a crop top and gypsy style long neckpiece.  You could also work out a sleeveless kurta with a long skirt just like Kangana Ranaut did in Anju Modi’s ensemble.

Short skirts

Set some high-street goals in short skirts and let your legs do the talking this summer. Opt for floral prints or pastel tones that not only look chic but also very stylish. These days, pleated cotton skirts are very much in rage. Complete the look with chunky accessories and footwear of your choice.

Capri pants

If you are a travel buff, you would know how comfortable it is to slip in Capri pants or cropped trousers. They come with an added benefit of not getting dirty at the edges and look even great with a pair of sports shoes. Off shoulder, cold shoulder, simple tee or just a plain shirt, Capris work with everything.

Jumpsuits

Not everyone likes the idea of wearing jumpsuits but those who love the fashion; they can’t stop trying its versatile forms. Off-shoulder, drapey jumpsuits and sleeveless pieces with plunging necklines are a few popular styles these days.

And how can we forget actresses’ favourite rompers in funky prints. We have seen Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Selena Gomez nailing the trend like a pro, isn’t it? Just a small tip: avoid over-accessorising the ensemble.

Patiala Pants

Turn the Punjabi swag on and create stylish Indo-western looks with Patiala pants. The ideal options to carry it off could be an asymmetrical tunic, plain elegant kurta or an angarakha top.

Those who wish to try a western look can tuck in a smart top with a pair of solid-printed Patiala and perk up the ensemble.

Dhoti pants

Go the traditional way in a loose top, kurta or a tunic coordinated with dhoti pants. If you’re wearing it with a top, add an extra dose of style with cotton waistcoats or bundis. Top the attire up with chunky accessories and a neat hairdo.
